The ANSLL Board of Directors shall appoint a commissioner to each of the levels of play within ANSLL. This appointee is recommended but not required to have at least one year experience with the basic operations within ANSLL. It is also recommended the commissioner have a child that previously participated in the division they are going to commission so they are familiar with what is expected of the managers and players.
Duties
Serve as the primary means of communication with the managers.
Pass on information from BOD, President, VP, Safety Officer or other board members. Especially important for such things as field maintenance days, opening and closing ceremonies, manager/coach training, picture day, yearbook distribution and ANSLL events.
Primary point of contact for managers to pass on information regarding equipment, safety and field condition.
Resolve minor disputes and or complaints within their respective divisions.
Ensure makeup games are rescheduled, while working with the managers and the umpires, field and schedule coordinators.
Collect money and distribute tickets for ANSLL Day at the Park game.
Ensure managers have medical forms for all the players.
Spot check teams to make sure managers are keeping control of players and promoting a positive team environment.
Promote the goals within the Levels of Play to ensure all players are being developed accordingly.
AA, AAA and Majors CommissionersSpecific Duties
Assist Tryout Coordinator in conducting tryouts.
Ensure managers are aware of draft options and inform the Player Agent and other managers in their division of the draft options executed by each manager.
Assist Player Agent with administering their respective division's draft.
Maintain, and update weekly, division records. At a minimum: team standings, game scores, pitch count records for each pitcher, and if required, innings played each game by each player.
Arrange single-game call ups of lower league players with the guidance of the Player Agent.
